Appealing recipes with a simple can of tuna

Who doesn’t always have some canned tuna in the pantry? If you do not feel like cooking, last-minute guests arrive or you have not done your shopping and that is the only thing you can count on… Write down these appealing recipes, with a delicious taste and eye-catching. They are simple to prepare and with the usual ingredients. And without resorting to the typical (but no less delicious) pasta and tuna salad.

These recipes can be prepared with the canned tuna in sunflower oil, olive oil or water. Tuna contains a lot of protein, so it is a good idea to include it in your diet if you do a lot of sport!

Delicious tuna pâté

  • Cans of tuna (2), portioned cheese (2), garlic clove (1), lemon juice (2 tbsp)

This recipe is very easy to make and can be used both for a surprise visit and as a spread on toast for a light dinner. Let’s get started! Drain the water or oil well from the canned tuna. If you want a more homogeneous texture it is best to put all the ingredients in the blender and mash them. If you like chunks you can cut everything small and mix it without using the mixer. Let it cool down for a while in the fridge. And if you combine it with some olives… A genuine pleasure!

Eggplant and tuna cannelloni

  • Eggplant (1), canned tuna (2), tomato or pisto (6 spoons), béchamel

A great recipe for eggplant cannelloni stuffed with tuna, perfect for vegetable and fish lovers. If, on the other hand, you find it difficult to eat them, it is an ideal way of camouflaging the flavour. First you should wash the eggplant and cut it into (thin) slices. Grill them until they are golden brown. For the filling, mix the tomato or pisto with the tuna.

Once the slices are done, put some stuffing on the wider end and roll it up. Put all the rolls in a dish, cover them with the béchamel sauce and grill them in the oven. You can also add cheese and tomato on top. Spectacular.

Tuna omelettes

  • Canned tuna (2), eggs (2), olive oil, onion (1), parsley, turmeric, garlic clove (1), milk (60 ml), breadcrumbs (90 gr)

In a bowl put the tuna previously drained. Chop the garlic, the onion and the parsley and put them in the bowl. Mix. Add the rest of the ingredients (a small spoonful of turmeric) and mix again until you have a homogeneous mixture. Shape it into small omelettes and brown it in a frying pan with the oil. It is better that the oil is not too hot, so they will be made inside. A simple and perfect recipe to accompany with salad, rice, boiled potatoes…
