The gastornomy of Solsona is the same as the interior lands of Catalonia. The cuisine is traditional, and products such as the pork embutidos (sausage) are widely known and appreciated here. The calf and lamb meats are also very common, and can be roasted or grilled. When autumn arrives, the recollection of mushrooms becomes a popular activity between the inhabitants of the region. The importance of this ingredient is so big that during the month of October the Fair of the Mushroom in Salsona takes place.
This is not the only gastronomic even of the region, as in March the Fair of the Potato and the Truffle takes place. The potato of this area, known as trymfo, and the truffle from Solsona are the two most appreciated products in the area. The potato bread is one of the star products during the fair. Regarding the desserts, the Pastel Solsonés, a cake with almonds, is our favorite.
