The gastronomic tradition of this Huelva coastal area is marked by the transition; by the contact between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, but also by the presence of fishery products and others from the interior of the province. The offer of fish, molluscs and fresh seafood is assured given its condition as a coastal location and its proximity to Isla Cristina, a town that has one of the most important fishing ports in the south of the peninsula. Tunas, rays or croakers share the limelight with white prawns, lobsters, crayfish, coquinas or chirlas, all of which are very frequent and easy to find when eating in Islantilla. The rice dishes and other traditional seafood-inspired stews are also very frequent among the local culinary offerings.
From the lands and mountain ranges of Huelva come many products of the highest quality among which undoubtedly highlight the famous Iberian sausages made in the northern lands on the Sierra de Aracena. In Lepe, a few kilometers from La Antilla, all kinds of fruits and vegetables are cultivated, among which strawberrys and various fruits of tropical origin deserve special attention, also highly recommended to finish eating in Islantilla.
