Bull Stew recipe

A tasty recipe for bull stew? Coming up! Typical of Pamplona, this recipe is prepared a lot during the San Fermines. Although the Spanish Fighting bull stew is usually prepared less, during the bullfighting festivities this recipe is used in many towns. It is a strong-tasting recipe, even though it is consumed in summer. It is perfect for up to four people to enjoy, with only medium difficulty to make. You will have to devote time, but the result will surprise even the people with the most exquisite palates. Enjoy!

Ingredients for the Bull Stew Recipe

  • Spanish Fighting Bull ( 1 kg )
  • Onion (1)
  • Leeks (2)
  • Potatoes (2)
  • Garlic cloves (4)
  • Tomatoes (2)
  • Parsley (1 spoonful)
  • Red wine (1/2 L)
  • Laurel (1 leaf)
  • Water (1 cup)
  • Black pepper (1 pinch)
  • Vinegar (6 tablespoons)
  • Olive oil
  • Sal

Bull Stew - How to Make:

  1. Chop the onion, garlic and leeks into very small pieces.
  2. Put the chopped vegetables in a dish with the olive oil.
  3. Season the pieces of bull and cover them in a little flour so they won’t stick to the dish.
  4. Put them on the stove together with the other ingredients just before the onion, leek and garlic are golden brown.
  5. After this, saute and stir with a spatula or a wooden spoon if possible. This way you will not damage the skillet.
  6. We cover the mixture with the estimated quantity of wine. We also add the vinegar, laurel, water, parsley and the salt.
  7. Wait until the stew simmers.
  8. When we see that the meat is almost done, the pieces are moved to another dish.
  9. The mixture that was left in the first dish is stirred with the help of a mixer. Once mixed well, add the meat of the bull and the potatoes cut into small pieces. Let them cook until they are tender.
  10. Serve hot and add more salt if necessary.

Our advice: The amount of protein and carbohydrates that this recipe has makes it perfect to eat at noon so the body will have time to digest it.
