Soria is so beautiful that it was praised by the famous writers Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, Miguel de Unamuno, Gerardo Diego and Antonio Machado, who called it “mystyc and fighter”. Despite its many attractions (the San Pedro Cathedral, the Santo Domingo church, the Numantine Museum, the Monastery of San Juan de Duero, etc.) Soria is not a big tourist destination.
If you plan to stay in Soria, here are our suggestions.
If you want to stay in Soria there’s a lot of choice. The first place that we would like to recommend is the Leonor Centro, a 4 star hotel. It’s located in the Plaza Mayor, it has different kinds of rooms and spa service. It’s an innovative building and its walls are decorated with illustrations by Javier Pérez. It has a big terrace where you can watch the sunset while you’re having a drink.
Hotel Alfonso VIII is a 4 star hotel located in the very heart of Soria. It has 88 well illuminated and spacious rooms, warmly decorated and furnished. The suites has two independent spaces, the room and the hall. The hotel has big halls to celebrate all kinds of events: family events, weddings, communions, conventions and professional meetings.
The Hostel Sercotel Soria is another central hotel, located in front of “La Chata” bull ring. It’s a modern and chic hotel. In the morning you can have a “basic breakfast” at the bar with coffee and pastries.
A little further from the center, but still close to the city, we find the Hotel Sercotel Ciudad de Soria. Guests love the location of this hotel, situated in a quiet neighborhood, very well connected to the center. The rooms are very simple but spacious and bright, due to their large windows.
The Campos de Castilla hostel is located 5 minutes by car from Soria. Some rooms have a large terrace, if you ask for it. The restaurant serves excellent food, especially the meats.
If you want to stay outside of Soria, we recommend you the Posada de Numancia, located in Garray, a few kilometers from the city. It is very close to the Roman ruins of Numancia. Its rooms maintain the traditional style: wooden floors, wooden beams and stone walls. The breakfast is good and plentiful.
