Burgos is one of the most visited capitals by Spanish and foreign tourists. Some prefer to spend the night in the historical center and some prefer to stay outside of the city. If you want to sleep in Burgos, keep reading because in this page we give you our recommendations.
We recommend 5 hotels in the historical center of the city. First of all the NH Collection Palacio de Burgos, located next to the bridge and 200 metres from the Cathedral. It’s a urban and modern hotel. In the past it was a convent and it’s very nice walking in the cloisters. The breakfast is varied and generally quite good. This is a really good place to sleep in Burgos.
Another option to sleep in Burgos could be the Mesón del Cid, a very recommendable three stars hotel, a Burgos classic. If there is availability, you can ask for a room with a view of the Cathedral…wake up with that view has no price! They have their own parking, that is a plus.
The third option we recommend you to sleep in Burgos is the Hotel Rice Palacio de los Blasones, a hotel often chosen by pilgrims. The rooms are spacious, classic and with a certain charm. One piece of information that should be highlighted is that the parking is very tight, so be careful!
The AC Burgos is our fourth recommendation. It’s a quiet, modern and functional hotel. Very similar to the others AC hotels, it’s very near the “tapeo” area. The value for money is good.
If you are looking for a cheaper option, because you are going to spend all day visiting the city and you don’t need any luxury, you could choose the Entrearcos Hotel. Its location is very good.
Sometimes the historical center of the touristic cities have only pedestrian streets, to allow them to walk and see the monuments.
A good option to stay outside the historical center is the Silken Gran Teatro, located 4 minutes from the Paseo del Espolón and from the Evolution Museum. It’s a modern and minimalist hotel, with beautiful rooms that never disappoint. By the way, the beds are “tatami” style, so be careful with the shins!
Another hotel that we recommend you is the ABBA Burgos Hotel, located 15 minutes from the city center. One of the strengths is the heated swimming-pool, a real luxury!! La Abadía, its restaurant, is very recommendable.
If you’re looking for tranquility, this is the section for the rural houses lovers.
Next to Burgos we find the village of Vivar del Cid. Here we suggest you to stay in La Morada del Cid, a rural hotel, perfect to spend a weekend in Burgos. It’s very friendly and finely decorated with sketches of El Cid. The breakfast stands out and the hotel is only 10 minutes by car from Burgos.
A little bit outside the town (20 minutes by car) we suggest the Hotel rural La Tenada, located in Carcedo de Burgos, a very charming hotel. Made of stone and very comfortable. If you have the possibility we recommend you the suite, that has a huge bathtub to see the stars. The breakfast is very good, with typical handmade products of the area.
