Where to sleep in Lucena

Guide to sleep in Lucena

This town, of enormous archaeological wealth, had a flourishing Jewish community. Its Sanctuary of Araceli allows to see five provinces, being “the vantage point of one of the most beautiful Spanish landscapes” according to Camilo José Cela.

Despite its tourist attraction, the hotel offer is limited but we are going to show you our recommendations to sleep in Lucena.

In the centre of the town, you can stay at the Hotel An Santo Domingo. This is our first recommendation to sleep in Lucena. It is a hotel that perhaps needs some renovation but we forget that when we think about the magnificent central patio that it has. It has a classic and a little bit old decoration so if you are looking for a design or romantic hotel, it is not the right one. If we must make a review of its restaurant, we could say that it is ok.

If you are looking for something a little further away from the centre of Lucena (just 5 minutes by car) we recommend the Hotel Sierra de Araceli. This little hotel is in a wonderful environment surrounded by olive trees. Its rooms have balconies with good views of the Sierra de Aras. Rooms are spacious and they have a warm and pleasant decoration. Like the previous one it also has a restaurant where they serve very tasty fries potatoes. The approximate price of the double room is 49€ per night.

The Hotel Al-Yussana has the best quality-cost relationship in Lucena. It is located in the district of the Jewish neighbour in the center of Lucena. Next to the hotel, you will find all the tourist attractions of Lucena, the castle, markets, bars and restaurants. Rooms are a little bit small but they are functional without great luxury but very clean, so if you want to visit the area it is a great option to spend a couple of nights. It is situated in a pedestrian zone, so if you go by car, we recommend to leave it in a parking.
