Sleep in Zamora

Zamora is placed upon a hill, on the right side of the Duero River. It was the scene of many battles in the Middle Ages. Located between the Tierra del Pan and the Tierra del Vino, this city is like a Romanesque and Modernism museum. Despite not being very big, Zamora has many attractions, such as the Spanish Navy Park, the Santiago del Burgo Church, the Old Town Hall, the New Town Hall and the Santa Lucía Church.

If you plan to stay in Zamora, here are our best suggestions.

One of our favorite places to stay in Zamora is the Ares Hotel, 200 meters to the Semana Santa Museum and with views of the city walls. The rooms are newly refurbished and there is a library with books and board games. The elegance of its rooms makes the place relaxing.

The NH Zamora Palacio del Duero is located near the Santa María de Horta Church. It has 49 rooms decorated in warm colours, red and beige, with wooden floors. There are a big restaurant with vaulted ceiling, a library with large sofas and desks, a terrace and a bar.

The Parador de Zamora is a XV century castle. The rooms are a bit dark and the curtains are opaque, to maintain the traditional illumination.  The inner courtyard illuminates the rooms, letting the sunlight in under its semicircular arches. The restaurant serves traditional regional dishes with a creative touch.

In this section we will talk about the accommodations that are located a little further from the city center. The first one is the AC Hotel Zamora, located near the business and financial area. This hotel offers 24-hour room service, a steambath and a restaurant that serves traditional Castilian food.

The Casa Marta is an apartment located on the other side of the river, within walking distance of the football stadium. The apartment is newly built and there is everything you need in the kitchen and in the bathrooms. We recommend it if you want to cook independently.

If you’re looking for an accommodation outside of Zamora to get to know the area, we recommend you the Palacio de Monfarracinos, in Monfarracinos, in the Northeast of the city. It’s a 100-year-old noble refurbished house. There is a wine cellar and during the summer they have a nice terrace to have a drink. The building is well kept and there is also a pool. The breakfast is complete and high-quality.
