Sleep in Medinaceli

Sleep in Medinaceli

Located on a high hill, the “Sky City” was the headquarters of the “caudillo” Almanzor and one of the most powerful duchies of Spain, that renewed its architecture in the XVI century. Nowadays Medinaceli continues offering the arts and crafts of the past. Its main attractions are the Castle of Medinaceli and the Monastery of Santa Isabel.

If you plan to stay in Medinaceli, here are our suggestions.

Our favourite accommodation in Medinaceli is the Hotel Medina Salim, located inside the Roman/medieval walls of the village. It has 20 rooms with views on the countryside or on the village. Some rooms are adapted for people with disabilities. There is a Jacuzzi and massage tables. The decoration is chic and classy.

We can also recommend the Hostal Bavieca, a modest accommodation with a normal decoration, but very quiet. The owners and the staff are very nice and you will have everything you need to stay comfortable.

The Casa Rural La Cerámica is a very good central hotel. It’s a stone building with rustic rooms. Every room has a private bathroom and the beds have electric blankets, that is very good for your back after a walking day.

If you want to stay outside of Medinaceli to enjoy the area, in Blocona you will find the rural house Ana de las Tejas Azules. It has 5 rooms and it’s for up to 14 people. They serve freshly baked pastries at breakfast.
