The most classic gastronomy from the interior of Asturias is always present in Salas. Here it is easy to find classical dishes such as fabada or Pote Asturiano along with all kind of meats and artisanal embutidos. The orchards are essential for the region and their products are always present in the local recipes.

Regarding fish, the rivers from the surrondings (and the recipes from the restaurants) are full of salmons and trouts. They are present in the Jornadas Gastronomicas that take place every year and where cod and meat are also very appreciated by the locals and visitors looking for flavour and originality in the tradition. When focusing on sweets, the carajillos are the most typical dessert in Salas and their main ingredients are butter, eggs, sugar and hazelnuts!

There are numerous places that are perfect for eating in Salas.

First of all Casa Pachón is one of the most renown restaurants of the area. Its menu is full of tradition and local ingredients that allow the clients to enjoy potajes, guisos and meats. We recommend going if you are very hungry because the size of the servings is huge.

The restauran of the hotel Castillo de Valdés Salas is another establishment that must be considered when looking for a place to eat. Its menu is also based on the local cuisine but also includes contemporary creations. The athmosphere is intimate and one of their best dishes is the salmon with peas-sauce!

 El Surtudor will also surprise you due to its price – quality relation. Located on the road, it offers a daily menu full of traditional dishes.

Finally another nice restaurant which is specialised in grilled meat and fish is the Llagar el Buche. Order cachopo, cecina with goat cheese or a fabada!
