 There are many options for eating in Mijas, a locality which gastronomic tradition in really lined to the sea and the mountains of Málaga. Fried fish is a very common product to try in Mijas, specially in the restaurants nearby the sea where there are some specialties such as the sardines espeto. In the locality some traditional recipes stand out, specially soups: salmorejo, gazpacho, fish soup, ajobalnco, live together with other dishes such as the maimones soup ( warm tomato soup with bread, olives and garlic) or the cachorreñas soups (made with cod and bread). There are many places for eating in Mijas both in the town and in the coast. El Mirlo Blanco is located in the middle of the city centre and is one of the referents for eating in Mijas. It is very cozy and the dishes are elaborated with seasonal fresh products.

Roca Grill, at the outskirts of the locality is a place to enjoy good grilled meat and other specialties of the local gastronomy. It has a very big dining room and a nice terrace.
