Garganta de Cuartos

This place is located in the village of Losar de la Vera, in the province of Cáceres. We recommend you to stay near the bridge that cross the river since the volume of water is deeper. Furthermore, there is a coffee shop in the area from where you will have views of the whole area. If you want to stay longer, there is a camping.

Garganta de Alardos

This wonderful place is located in the county of La Vera, more precisely in Madrigal de la Vera. The pools that form the Garganta de Alardos stand out because of its excellent condition. 

Lago Alonso Vega

Alonso Vega lake, popularly known as Jaraíz lake, is located in the village of Jaraíz de la Vera. It is a natural lake formed in the Garganta de Pedro Chate (Pedro Chate’s Gorge). It has improved through the years and now it is becoming a touristic area with all the facilities. We also recommend it to the trout fishing enthusiasts.

This nature reserve located in the Jerte Valley is one of the best places for swimming in Extremadura. There you can gaze at the numerous waterfalls, as well as potholes in the area known as Los Pilones. There are also natural pools in Los Pilones.

Playa de Orellana

The first inland beach in Spain with the Blue Flag award is located in the village of Orellana de la Vieja (Badajoz). You can do all kind of activities in the Orellana reservoir: nautic sports such as windsurf, sailing or canoeing even fishing. Moreover, it is a Special Protection Area (SPA) and it is included in the list of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance especially as Waterfowl Habitat.

Isla del Zújar
