Sleep in La Alberca

La Alberca is a small remote village whose traditional architecture was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument more than sixty years ago. Its inhabitants were known as the “beocios de España” (the “stupid Spaniards”) and people said that they were primitives and that they lived naked. They have managed to combine their traditions with aspects of modern-day life.

If you plan to stay in La Alberca, here are our suggestions.

The best place to sleep in La Alberca is the Esquina de Animas, a newly built house with a façade that fits well with the natural beauty of the village. The interior style is traditional. It is for up to 5 guests and it has two bathrooms. The owners are very kind and there are many amenities.

The Aserradero is a perfectly decorated apartment, with wooden beams and some beautiful headboards. The owners are very kind and helpful and it is located close to a supermarket and some restaurants.

The Hostal San Blas is a modest accommodation, a place surrounded by nature located a few minutes by car from the Las Batuecas Natural Park. It has 14 complete rooms with all kinds of amenities. The decoration  leaves something to be desired, but if you are very tired this hostel is the perfect place.

On the outskirts of La Alberca we find the Hotel Termal Abadía de Los Templarios, that we love for the impressive spa facilities. It has pools, a sauna, a steambath and a gym. It also has a tennis court. This hotel will make you relax. The buffet breakfast is high quality.
