León is an old Roman nucleus, it is the city that celebrated the first Spanish Parliament throughout the world, before San Esteban de Gormaz. It is also a place where a lot of pilgrims go. León has a huge variety of important relics as its cathedral – high point of Gothic art in Spain -, its museum or the Basílica de San Isidoro, one of the most important ones in the world. Where to sleep in León: old town

The NH Collection León Plaza is in the Plaza Mayor of León, so close to the Cathedral, this is our first option to sleep in León. It has 51 rooms, they are of different category, for example, the Junior Suites, ideal for families or business meetings, because they have living room. The rooms have a lineal and neutral decoration with wood floors. A lot of the rooms have views to the square where there usually are concerts. It has an all you can eat breakfast.

Where to sleep in León: urban center

If you are planning to sleep in León but you prefer to stay farther from the old town but still in the urban center, the AC Hotel Leon San Antonio is one of our recommendations. It is close to the famous Casa de Botines of Gaudí and it is in a calm area. It is easy to find parking on the street and the breakfast is good and diverse. The Tryp León Hotel is also recommended due to its comfort. The rooms are large and there is pillow menu.

Where to sleep in León: surroundings

In León surroundings we have to recommend you the Parador de León, located in the San Marcos monastery. It is a monumental hotel right opposite the Bernesga river bridge. It was built funded by Fernando the Catholic. The rooms have high ceilings and they still have the old monastery essence but combine with new mattress and renovated bathrooms.
