Sleep in Ávila

Ávila is known as the “ciudad de cantos y de santos” (“the city of songs and saints”) and its symbol is the medieval wall, one of the best preserved in Spain. More than 30 years ago this town was declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. Its main attractions are the Cathedral and the Basilica of Saint Vincent.

Here are the best places to stay in Ávila.

Our first option is the Hotel Palacio de los Velada, a 4 stars hotel with 144 luxury rooms, located near the Ávila Cathedral. The rooms can be double or triple and are located in the oldest part of the palace. There are meeting rooms with capacity for up to 400 people.

Another good place is the Hotel Palacio Valderrábanos, also near the Ávila Cathedral, very close to all the main points of interest of the city. It has 73 welcoming and fashionable rooms with a medieval style. It is a very quiet hotel despite being very central.

And last, but not least, the Parador de Ávila (Piedras Albas Palace), attached to one of the most preserved defensive walls of the world. There are big gardens with archaeological remains and a café in the inner courtyard, to make you relax.

The Sercotel Cuatro Postes is located very close to the city, between the center and the suburbs. It has 140 spacious rooms, well-equipped and well-illuminated. If you can, book a double superior room, it’s nicer and the sheets are better.

The cheaper option to stay in Ávila is the Hotel H2 Ávila. The rooms and the breakfast are OK.
